Evaluation Question 3: What have you learned from your Audience Feedback?

I have learnt a lot from audience feedback, as involving my audience within the production of my music video I was able to create and improve the video tailoring it to the style of my target audience.

I first began by establishing the song(Only You Can Save)’s genre. Which was Christian acoustic.

From this I went and found out who the target audience of the music video would be. I felt as it was Christian music any Christian would be open to song and its promotional video. However I felt that I wanted to point this video at people who are going through times of troubles and pain ad have no on to turn to. This video gives out a message that everything is ok with God and you should praise and worship him because He loves you.

After establishing this I went out to produce my first version of the music. Once complete I uploaded it onto YouTube and asked for some audience feedback.

After receiving these comments and messages I decided to plan out a second version of the music video. I wanted to take every piece of feedback and idea and place it into my new video.

Therefore when creating the second version of the music video I filmed the band under the cross in the center of the stage, making this look better when involving the cross by only having to move the camera up and down.

I also contacted a number of people from my church to be involved in the video as the congregation of the church and to liven up the video and make it more interesting. When filming the new video I made sure I didn’t move the camera fast and every movement and zoom was slow. Therefore when editing footage together I was able to but some smooth fades and transistions into it and the camera work then looked more professional than before.

I also liked the idea of having Holly and just her guitar outside lip synching to the song. Therefore I took her out around some trees which gave it a nice picturesque look with the autumn leaves on the ground.

After filming and editing the new version of the music video I asked the same people to comment on the video again to see if they liked the improvements.

This is what they said:

In following this feedback I felt I improved the video and tailored it to the audiences needs.

I also got more feedback on the new video:

All in all I believe that the improvements made my music video much better and more professional. I also feel that the video fits its target audience and I feel I have learnt that it is always good to get audience feedback so you can generate more ideas for the music video and improve it even more.
